Jim Shaw

Jim Shaw has been in real estate since 2004. He knows Quincy, Weymouth, Braintree, Milton, Hingham, Cohasset, Duxbury and Boston's Back Bay, and he works with first-time buyers, new construction buyers, luxury clients and people relocating to the area.

Jim came to real estate from construction. He ran heavy equipment, excavated, did site work and spent more than five years in masonry. He's been involved in new construction throughout his career, so he knows what to look for when he's helping you buy a home.

Real estate never feels like work to him. It's a way to share his passion for design and architecture while helping people turn their goals into a place they love.

One deal he's proud of: in 2020 he listed seven new construction townhomes in Quincy. As buyers went under agreement, the pandemic hit and some lost their jobs and had to back out. The team masked up and got all seven sold.

What he's learned as a self-described perfectionist: nothing is perfect, there will be sacrifices, and acceptance is the key. His philosophy fits in a line: "Perseverance is the key to success!"

Jim lives in Weymouth and grew up on Nantucket. He's at home with his wife, his kids and his dog Quinn, and out of the office he's riding his Harley, hiking in the mountains or finding projects around the house. For a special occasion it's Tosca in Hingham, and in the summer it's Food Truck Friday at Weymouth Town Hall.
